Bally Mountain is only 490m high but is very interesting - there are several good viewpoints offering views to the Cougals, part of Springbrook, Wolumbin and the Gold Coast. From Bonogin creek the ascent starts on a very old farm road. After some mild scrambling with some exposure on a small cliff break we traverse across to the main peak on a wide razorback. We return via the same route. Lunch will probably be beside the pools at the base of the mountain. If people are interested we’ll explore further upstream. This walk is for experienced walkers only and is weather dependent due to potentially slippery conditions
