This is a beautiful walk of 13 kilometres in Lamington National Park. The walk begins at the lower information hut and is part of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk. There are several lookouts along the Lower Bellbird Track that provide wonderful views including Turtle Rock, Egg Rock, Ships Stern and Numinbah Valley. The track winds past cliff faces, across mountain streams and through a patch of dry rainforest dominated by hoop pine. We will detour to the Lower Ballanjui Falls and return to Binna Burra via the Ships Stern track. Time permitting, we may enjoy a coffee at the Binna Burra Tea house. A car shuffle will complete the circuit.
The track is uneven and may be slippery in parts after rain. The walk is suitable for beginners with good fitness and agility. The track passes close to some steep cliff edges.
Meet at the usual place on the corner of South and Nicholas Sts, Ipswich at 7.00 a.m.
