DESCRIPTION:The Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area (in Gold Coast reg
 ion) covers more than 1200 hectares of wetland, eucalypt forests, salt m
 arshes and mangroves. The area provides habitat for 274 animal species a
 nd internationally protected migratory birds. Lake Coombabah is a tidal 
 lake that forms part of the Coomera River catchment. We will link severa
 l trails to complete a walk of no more than ten kilometres. These trails
  will include walks to a bird hide, a koala-spotting area, and a boardwa
 lk over wetland. Following our walk we will head to the beach for a swim
  (if desired) and lunch at a nearby cafe at Paradise Point. You will nee
 d to bring your hat, water, swimming togs (optional), morning tea and mo
 ney for lunch. Meet at the usual place on the corner of South and Nichol
 as Sts., Ipswich, at 7.00 a.m.
