It can only be accessed at low tide via a sand bar fro m Wellington Point. The total distance is about 3 kilometres return. The re is a variety of birdlife such as the eastern curlew and interesting f iddler crabs are found in the exposed sand flats. We will then stop for coffee or breakfast at a bakery/coffee shop at Wellington Point. After t his we will proceed to the Scribbly Gum Conservation Reserve at Alexandr a Hills where we will do a walk of about 4 kilometres. We will leave fro m the usual meeting point in Ipswich at 6.00 am to fit in with the low t ide at Wellington Point. These walks should be suitable for beginners.
