This 9 km loop walk begins from the Spicers Gap camping area. It is a steady climb to Mt. Mathieson after which there are some lovely views of Mt. Mitchell and Mt. Cordeaux from a ridge where there is a little scrambling required. We follow an old pioneering road used in the bygone timber industry. Here there are views to Mt. Spicer. There is a short detour to the Governor's Chair and then a stretch along a gravel road and back to the cars. You will need morning tea, lunch and water. Meet in Ipswich on the corner of Nicholas and South Streets.
