This half day walk follows an attractive section of the Brisbane River along a good walking path for about 6 kilometres. Along the way we will pass underneath the Centenary Bridge before reaching our destination at the Rocks Riverside Park. We will inspect the old Oxley Wharf where barges used to unload coral transported from Moreton Bay. The crushed coral was then loaded on to a conveyor belt which finished up at the old Darra cement works. Parts of the concrete pylons used to transport the coral still exist. We will have morning tea here and a car shuffle will be organised beforehand. This walk will be suitable for beginners.
