The Anstead Bushland Reserve covers a swath of river frontage on the Brisbane River that was previously the Sugars Quarry which opened in 1886. We will walk down and inspect the old quarry where there are remnants of an old boiler and timber supports. From a lookout above the quarry, there is a good overall view of the river and beyond. The walk is a distance of about 7.7 kilometres and should be suitable for beginners and is dog friendly. Please note that the fee for fuel costs may vary according to conditions at the time.
