We will travel through Samford Village and Dayboro on the way to Mt Mee and park at "The Gantry", an old saw
milling site that closed in 1981. From here we will follow a well-graded trail through, at first, rainforest then open Gum
and dry heath forest. The half way mark is the location of the Somerset Lookout, a lookout area on the edge of the
escarpment that affords views of Somerset and Wivenhoe dams. Also of interest here is a small number of Cycad
Palms. From the lookout it is an undulating walk back to the Gantry car park and picnic area. This walk is approximately
13 kms and takes 4 - 5 hrs to complete.
